Have Your Energy Costs Increased?

Everyone knows where the obvious air leaks are in their home. They sneak up on us don’t they? Little by little the weather stripping on the front door wears down and we can feel a breeze coming through and chances are we let it go in the past.

Suddenly things have changed. Energy costs of all kinds are skyrocketing. Most of us have switched to a programmable thermostat; we change our furnace air filters more often; and we are doing something about the air leaks we once found acceptable. That’s good! Don’t relax yet though-what about the leaks you don’t even know exist? Even if your heating and cooling system is well designed, and maintained, parts of your house may still be uncomfortable, and silently costing you money.

Home energy usage and efficiency is one area where we can have some control. Knowing if your home is as efficient as it can be and ways to improve that efficiency are very valuable tools.
